In 1989, the mother-daughter team of Jaye Congleton and Rebecca Congleton Boenigk raised $50,000 and started Neutral Posture, Inc. (NP). Working out of Rebecca's garage, they concentrated on small contracts to develop their market. NP is now a multi-million dollar business.
Doing business with minority business enterprises (MBE) or women business enterprises (WBE) makes good business sense as this is the fastest growing segment of industry today. These companies are profitable and create many new opportunities.
Forming diverse business relationships helps ensure a broader and more competitive supplier base which can expand the work force.
Supporting them creates stronger communities by increasing the employment rate and tax base. More jobs and more community tax money
translates to improved lives.
Neutral Posture, Inc. (NP) has established the Diversity Business Development Program (DBDP) for MBEs and WBEs and not-for-profit
and non-profit organizations. The DBDP was created to provide new opportunities for smaller or growing businesses competing in today's highly competitive business environment. To support and encourage these businesses, the program is comprised of two parts:
- Discount Pricing for customers
- Bidding Opportunities for suppliers
Discount Pricing for our customers
Significant discount pricing has been established to offer Neutral Posture, Inc.'s products to these smaller, growing businesses that may not qualify for discounts otherwise. This includes not-for-profit and non-profit organizations.

Neutral Posture's certifications include:
Bidding Opportunities for Suppliers
To maintain its commitment to leadership, quality and innovation, NP seeks minority and women-owned suppliers/vendors with these same standards. NP invites minority and women-owned suppliers to register with NP. s DBDP department to be included for consideration in future bidding opportunities.
