Engineer

Neutral Posture is looking for engineer to develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods and develop new product design ideas as part of design team.

Duties and responsibilities include

  • Developing new manufacturing processes. Recommending and implementing improvements to production processes, initiatives to reduce costs, and action plans to improve quality. Providing technical support for manufacturing. Completing, both quickly and accurately, process layouts and detailed drawings as needed.
  • Serving as member of design team in developing and creating new design ideas, improved design ideas, or conceptually new products. Taking the lead on assigned projects to work with Marketing, Sales, Production, and/or others in validating the concept for further promotion. Continuing to develop the concept according to design requirements.
  • Working with suppliers, purchasing, and other 3rd parties to get concept into initial design stage. Researching suppliers, researching products, and analyzing raw materials and testing requirements. Incorporating details in process for further development.
  • Applying lean manufacturing concepts to production processes. Specifying and training on new production equipment. Overseeing and implementing quality efforts and checkpoints.
  • Managing the design paperwork system and all records that pertain to each design concept or development. Coordinating the communication and workflow with pertinent personnel, both within Engineering and other internal departments, including all pre-design documents to implementation stages of manufacturing.
  • Researching all applicable standards and regulations as required for maintaining industry or corporate mandated certifications. Determining, organizing, and preparing all applicable requirements and criteria. Determining at what level and how products must meet those standards. Maintaining all records of testing in an easily accessible system for use by production, marketing, sales, customer service, purchasing, engineering, and administration.
  • Maintaining records of calibration and maintenance required for testing and measuring machines. Coordinating any preventative maintenance documentation or recording for lab and equipment on the production floor.

Requirements are

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering with related experience
  • 2+ years experience developing and/or re-designing products and processes
  • Hands-on prototyping, supplier requirements, and manufacturing implementation experience
  • Ability to create 2D and 3D drawings. Pro-E and/or Solidworks and AutoCad preferred
  • ISO 9001 and /or Level (sustainability) experience preferred
  • Knowledge of lean concepts and Industrial Engineering practices preferred
  • Understanding of ergonomics preferred
  • Knowledge and /or experience with fabrication and machining preferred

HR Manager

Neutral Posture is looking for experienced human resources professional to be directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function.

Duties and responsibilities include the following

  • Develops and administers various human resources plan and procedures for all company personnel.
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt, nonexempt and temporary workers; writes and places advertisements; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers; conducts new-employee orientations; conducts exit interviews.
  • Conducts all payroll functions. Reviews timekeeping reports, notifies managers and supervisors of issues, patterns, or violations of attendance policies. Processes payroll.
  • Functions as Employee Relations manager for all counseling, progressive discipline, and termination sessions, including but not limited to, preparation of documentation and actual interviews. Identifies and develops training programs for staff development.
  • Implements and annually updates the compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys; analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; performs benefits administration including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness. Serves as plan administrator for 401(k) plan.
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Maintains organizational charts and employee directory. Maintains training documentation.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws

Requirements are

  • Must have 3–5 years previous experience as a human resource generalist.
  • Must be able to remain impartial and make recommendations based on facts and objectives, rather than judgment or personal beliefs.
  • Must be able to voice concerns to highest level within the organization.
  • Must be proficient in PC operations, database manipulation, spreadsheet development and report writing software.
  • Must have strong verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate in written form.
  • Manufacturing exposure preferred
  • HR certification preferred.

Industrial Maintenance Technician

Neutral Posture is looking for experienced technician to repair, install, adjust, and maintain production machinery and equipment.

Duties and responsibilities include

  • Performing required preventative maintenance tasks, including data logging, calibrations, inspections, fluid testing and changes, equipment rebuilds, alignments, clean and lubricate, replacement of worn gears, bearing, belts, motors, and other parts, etc. Examines parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear.
  • Disassembling and testing machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters or other testing devices. Analyzing test results, machine error messages, and other information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems. Change gears, bearings, belts, and motors as required. Reassembling equipment after completion of inspections, testing, and repairs. Operating equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
  • Maintaining close contact with Production Manager regarding maintenance trouble reports and scheduled equipment maintenance to ensure a minimum interruption of production.
  • Maintaining maintenance records of repairs and preventative maintenance in accordance with company process and procedures.

Requirements are

  • 2+ years industrial maintenance experience with preventative maintenance, pneumatic/hydrologic, and/or electrical experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision and meet required deadlines.
  • Ability to read machine schematics
  • Ability to accurately read tape measure to 1/32"
  • Basic math skills, ability convert fractions to decimals (and vice versa), and solve mathematical equations with fractions and decimals accurately
  • Ability to operate forklift and pass NP's certification requirements
  • Ability to lift 25–50 pounds consistently.
  • Work overtime as required, evenings and weekends.
  • Experience with automated production equipment preferred
  • Metal fabrication / welding experience preferred
  • Manufacturing exposure preferred
